Project Engineer II – Electrical
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineer II – Electrical is responsible for contributing to electrical engineering projects, new product development, and supporting continuation engineering initiatives. This individual participates in engineering efforts in the design and support of manufactured products in accordance with company policies and procedures.
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING
- Participate in the design and development of new products and systems, from initial concept through to final production
- Conduct feasibility studies, including cost and performance analysis, to guide product development decisions
- Create detailed electrical schematics, layouts and specifications
- Assist in specifying and evaluating purchased components, subsystems, and services
- Perform simulations, prototyping, and testing to validate designs and ensure product performance and reliability meet all specifications
CONTINUATION ENGINEERING
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues in manufacturing and field applications
- Implement design changes and updates to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of design changes, test results, and technical reports
- Support the development and maintenance of test fixtures and procedures
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to continuous improvement of company standards and Engineering department processes and best practices
- Participate in cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing to ensure project success
- Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by collaborating with peers and participating in team engagement events
- Comply with company safety and health rules and policies and promote safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to senior managers
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with at least 2 years of directly relevant work experience
- Familiar with power supply circuit designs
- Experience with laboratory testing software such as LabView
- Familiar with printed circuit board layout and design
- General computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe and similar productivity products

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Manage multiple priorities with time-based project management
- Strong analytical skills along with creative problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Active sense of urgency and a strong “hands-on” work ethic
