Associate Engineer – Mechanical

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for contributing to mechanical engineering projects, new product development, and supporting continuation engineering initiatives.  This individual assists with engineering efforts in the design and support of manufactured products in accordance with company policies and procedures.

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING

  • Participate in the design and development of new products and systems, from initial concept through final production.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, including cost and performance analysis, to guide product development decisions.
  • Create 3D models and engineering drawings of fabricated parts and assemblies using CAD systems.
  • Assist in specifying and evaluating purchased components, subsystems, and services.
  • Perform simulations, prototyping, and testing to validate designs and ensure product performance and reliability meet all specifications.

CONTINUATION ENGINEERING

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues in manufacturing and field applications
  • Implement design changes and updates to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of design changes, test results, and technical reports
  • Support the development and maintenance of test fixtures and procedures

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of company standards and Engineering department processes and best practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing to ensure project success.
  • Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by collaborating with your peers and participating in team engagement events.
  • Comply with company safety and health rules and policies and promote safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to senior managers.

EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • An internship or co-op experience in mechanical engineering is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software.  Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault a plus.
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe and similar productivity products.

COMPENSATION

This role offers a pay range of $65,698 – $96,465/annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
