DriSteem Introduces New Dehumidifier Line

Eden Prairie, MN – March 15, 2023 – DRI-STEEM Corporation (DriSteem), the leading manufacturer of humidification control, evaporative cooling, and water treatment products, is pleased to introduce the CDS dehumidifier RL series. The addition of this product extends DriSteem humidification control offerings to include moisture removal for commercial applications.

Dehumidification removes moisture from the air, decreasing condensation and frost, as well as protecting against mold, mildew, and fungus. The CDS dehumidifier RL series utilizes refrigeration technology to cool incoming air to the point where the invisible water vapor it contains begins to condense. Condensed moisture is drained away while the dry air is reheated and released into the space.

The CDS dehumidifier is available in two models with capacities of 31 lbs/h (model RL-31) and 14 lbs/h (model RL-14) at 80°F, 60% RH, with two different voltage options each (208-240V and 277 V). Model RL-31 features Variable-speed Low Grain Refrigerant (VLGR) technology, which modulates the refrigeration system with a variable-speed compressor. This maximizes moisture removal in low-grain conditions.

Key features of the CDS dehumidifier RL series include:

  • Self-sealing, easy-to-replace, MERV 11 air filter
  • EC Fan blower that changes speed (RPM) to maintain constant air flow, 1760 CFM (RL-31) and 830 CFM (RL-14)
  • Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) that regulates the refrigeration based on load (temp/RH)
  • PVC drain trap
  • Pre-installed electrical plug that can be removed for hard wiring
  • Onboard digital control for diagnostics and system set up
  • Optional room controller with accuracy +/-5% RH
  • Optional humidistat controller with basic BACnet capabilities
